Hospital of St Cross: building materials

If you could walk through the doorway in the centre of my shot you would find yourself in a covered part of the quad.

I took this in 'high contrast mono' picture effect to show the texture of the tiles on this low building and also the stonework of the taller building which houses the entrance to the almshouses.

to see the terracotta colour of the tiles, here's 'one I took earlier'

Such a fascinating building of contrasts in textured materials.

Great textures of the hanging tiles and then the texture of the paler building on the right. The colour one is lovely too. I really like how putting things in to B&W can really change things.
