One which I created earlier but which follows the criteria of nf-sooc-2018.
I am getting hooked!! (My 30mm lens is really light, really a macro lens, but also great for walkabout, no need to decide which lens today, can do practically all I want to do - and the robin in the garden is not very co-operative anyway.)
How interesting that you are enjoying using the fixed lens. I still find the sticking to 35mm on my 16-300 zoom really restrictive, but at the same time I am enjoying the challenge of rigidly only using it set to 35. This is a lovely colourful image.
I like this Hazel... and yes, it doesn’t take long to get into the habit. My most enjoyable year on here was my OCOLOY project where I shot all year using a 35mm prime lens and posted all images sooc... and in B&W - I quite missed it when the year came to an end! @casablanca
@vignouse Now that sounds like fun! I think if I had a dedicated lens rather than my zoom on the camera, it might be easier to achieve. A thought for the future......
@casablanca A 35mm lens for your D3400 is relatively inexpensive and you get the added benefit of a wide f/1.8 aperture for low-light images and/or restricted DoF... go for it!
This shot ably demonstrates your soft spot for the 1.8, 50 mm lens. Am finding it something of a discipline, yet delighted that I could get hooked/framed;-)
I guess if I had the option of zoom, I might feel differently?!
That was a great achievement, Richard! I could do sooc for a year but b&w would take a leap of the imagination for me! Thanks for your comment.
Oh yes, I love my 1.8, 50 mm lens - magic!!
