This peony is a beauty! Just finished your book of your dad's diaries ... an excellent read. It makes you feel very grateful for all that we have today. I noted also that royalties are going to the International Red Cross - your dad would be delighted and more than a little proud to know that you've done that. He clearly was more than grateful for the packages that he received during his years as a POW. Well done Hazel.
Fiery indeed and looks like one of those tussled complicated centres which I tend to like in peonies. But then to be honest I seem to like most peonies ; )
ETA: Thanks for the update on the green ones. I have been busy recently and missed the picture you posted till now. Given your review on them I won’t go out looking for a plant.

I think pink is infinitely superior as far as peonies are concerned.
