a selection of witch hazels

Thank you for your interest in my photo of a witch hazel (aka hamamelis) yesterday.

A few more from our visit to Hilliers Arboretum. I found red, orange and yellow ones and sometimes variations within these colours, notably yellow.

They have a rather distinctive perfume. We saw one bush/tree about 6 feet tall.
What an interesting plant! And such beautiful range of colors.

I love this plant but rarely see it 'live'!

Interesting collage and captures and so lovely to see the colour varieties of the flowers. They do have a lovely scent and have great healing properties.

Until a couple of weeks ago, I never knew much about witch hazel (except in a bottle as a skin toner) but now, thanks to 365, I’ve seen it in all different colours and a few different locales.
