Phil and a friend run a plumbing business. We had a couple of items needing attention in the house: Phil was recommended to us and arrived yesterday, installed a new shower, sorted out the cistern and even fitted in two other little jobs for us.
Work completed, he brought his new English bull terrier puppy, Lola, out of the van so she could stretch her legs and have a welcome drink of water. What a calm and good little dog, only 4 months old. So quiet that we had no idea he had a 'helper'.
Strangely enough I had my portrait lens on the camera.... So I begged a photo or two. First Lola sat by the pot of flowers near the front porch just long enough for one shot. Then I asked Phil if he would hold her and have a portrait taken together. He was not too keen at first, saying that he was not photogenic. But suddenly he picked Lola up so I could take a few shots.
Back on the ground, Lola thought she would investigate our indoors as the front door was open. Neil at the computer in the hall, busy at his voluntary work as a tablature moderator for the guitar archive, took a break and picked her up - he normally refuses to have his photo taken but............. well that's another story and a little puppy can certainly work magic.
!!!
Actually I myself did sort of try to say that - but didn't want to sound conceited!!
