@quietpurplehaze yes same here I will be taking my Sigma lens into Walton camera Shop tomorrow as to be honest Hazel I missed some good shots at Shoreham Air show due to my lens not zooming in on time, will let you know what the outcome Is

Everything about the image and the colours is just lovely, Hazel! I, too love the funny-shaped Kingfishers, and would love o live in a cottage with a sign like that!

I think that kingfisher must be the fastest bird there is! I've tried several times to get a shot with no luck!

Love the bright Kingfisher colours here , well named cottage!

He stayed still for a while for you I see:0)

Cute sign!!! Love your King Fisher!!!

It stood still for you... yay! Nice shot. Sometimes, I feel as though the only living creature that I can successfully shoot is one that is on narcotics, or nailed down. :)

What a great find. Didn't even see it move.

I love it!

@rosiekerr

I cam empathise, Rosie. A robin in our vicinity sings in full view at the very tops of trees but always when I have left my camera indoors!!!

@gerry

good luck with the lens, Gerry.

Thanks for all your comments. I did get a kingfisher once - 4 years ago - who sat obligingly on a post by the river - but the shot is a bit impressionistic as I only had a small p&s then! http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/add-ins/2012-09-24

@gigiflower

Sam, I've heard that before (I like it!!)

Snap! My mum's sister lives in a Kingfisher Cottage too (near Taunton, Somerset). It's pretty unusual to see a kingfisher bird there though...
September 6th, 2014
At least you`ve found and captured one. I did n`t .
September 6th, 2014
That's the easiest one to capture!
