getting the dole: one for the photo album

This was the start of our visit, with Ivan @ivan and Tina, to the almshouse at St Cross, which carries on the tradition of The Wayfarer's Dole: any visitor can request the piece of bread and small beaker of ale (Fuller's if anyone is interested).

We asked the porter in the lodge to take our photo - so he shut us all in the lodge and did just that.
