first butterfly

I've hardly seen any butterflies this year so it was good to find one this afternoon in the churchyard at Cheriton and get a shot too.

Very pretty, boldly patterned butterfly. They seem scarce around here this year too. I've seen several of the little white ones and one each of two different kinds of swallowtails but no Monarchs at all.
