I remember when I went to a one-day course to learn how to trim Jinks and was given the guidance that a Cairn terrier's face should be trimmed to look like a chrysanthemum but I think a dandelion would also be a good example?!
In my opinion, the most useful piece of advice was to hold the very edge of the ear between the thumb and forefinger of one hand whilst trimming the fur on it with the other hand in order not to cut a piece of ear in mistake.
I do trim Jinks but he doesn't like it and his reaction starts as a growly murmur which escalates to a full blown growl - and I know the point at which to put the muzzle on him for a little while!
Now you mention it!
Dandelions also were really useful to my grandmother who used to make wine from the flower heads.
Your comment made me smile!
