Amur leopards are found in small areas in Russia and China. A census in 2007 counted 14-20 adults and 5-6 cubs. Today the number of Amur leopards in the wild is estimated at around 30 and they are regarded as a critically endangered species.
Oh, my heart just clutched when I read of the small numbers in this world! Such exquisite beauty! I hope God will bless the hands that try to save them. You've done a wonderful thing to let us see them!
Yes it would have been great to have you there, Gerry. Mum and cub were out for quite a while together. I'd already been once in the morning to their enclosure and decided to have a sandwich and then go back - so I was very lucky!
The viewing glass we had to shoot through was a bit smudgy - there were no volunteers to go in the enclosure and clean it!
It might get on our wall at home!

Thanks for all the favs, Gerry!
