in the little church by quietpurplehaze

in the little church

I like the way the b&w conversion has turned the golden cross into silver. The natural light coming through the window creates the shadows of the flowers on the window sill.

It was good to post a b&w with selective red colouring yesterday because this stream of b&w images seems a bit depressing to me, adding in the grey weather outside nearly every day.

I'm thinking of posting a few more s/c images. Now what to do - quit the challenge? Or carry on tagging 'flashofred'? Suggestions please.

Come back to colour Hazel!

This looks lovely in b&w. Do you have to do a whole month of b&w for this challenge? Maybe in the UK a monochrome challenge would be best in summer when it is less likely to affect you. I could imagine that grey days and mono photos would get you down a bit.

This is lovely, the cross stands out beautifully.
I would still tag, a little flash of colour would suit nicely :0)

Love the light on the cross and the whole pic has a serenity to it!!

Lovely capture with the light on the cross . I am not a lover of B/W and
prefer colours most of the time but some captures can look great in B /W and I think selective colouring is always great. The sun is out here today at last after a week of grey weather hope it is shining for you to Hazel..

I'm struggling too with B&W when it is so grey these days, but this is beautiful, I love the way the cross is so sharp. A poignant shot that is not in the least dull

@susie1205

I think you've given me encouragement to carry on!

I agree with Babs it's unfortunate weather here for a B&W challenge. I would be tempted to carry on Hazel but add a flash of colour it will cheer us all up!!

Hi Hazel! Going to give this another try! Been following your pictures because I love your local shots which remind me of another life!! This is so English and the b/w gives it that coldness so many churches have this time of year!

This does look good in b&w, especially with the cross in the foreground.

@Cherrill

Hello Cherrill - how nice to get a comment from you. I'll take up my follow with you again. Some time I might also take you up on posting me a shot of the church where my maternal grandparents got married! I presume you haven't moved?!!
