My colour today for Breast Cancer Awareness month is red not pink. It's for my younger sister Wendy whose birthday happens to be today, and who died too young from breast cancer.
I hope one day that the same attention, openness, and effort for fund-raising will be given to all cancers.
Oh Hazel a beautiful rose for your sister. & I too do think that there are so many different cancer foundations, it would be nice if the finds were distributed to all of them.
Beautiful image, Hazel. I hope with you and many other people for awareness to all sorts of cancer, not only in October...
My daughter survived breast cancer, my husband survived lung cancer.
Zoe loved red roses too and they always remind me of her.
I have just found out today that a close friend of mine who has been battling lung cancer has now been told that she has secondary cancers in her spine.
Babs, thank you. I'm glad to remind you of Zoe but so sorry for the news about your friend. My sister's breast cancer spread to her spine. She was ill for three and a half years. It seemed unreal at the time that it was happening.
A beautiful rose tribute and capture for your sister it looks like is is sprinkled with teardrops. My dear friend who has terminal cancer now has the added worry of her husband being diagnosed this week with cancer.
Beautiful image, I think the late evening light is a perfect compliment to the rich colours of this rose.
I too lost a sister to cancer, although not breast cancer,so I appreciate your wish for more funding for all kinds of cancer.
Peter, thank you - a late evening shot in the garden.
My daughter survived breast cancer, my husband survived lung cancer.
Bep it's always heartening to hear positive outcomes and thank you for sharing your stories.

That's an unimaginably difficult situation. Your friend will need all her friends
