Can't help but look at the person on the steps. Not sure if it's a man or woman, am guessing wife as who would sit reading behind a drummer unless you loved him! Ray has more patience than Harry who would walk off as he gets embarrassed when I take photos of people!
Great street capture full of interest and colour Hazel, I wrongly thought before reading the narrative it was a quick candid street capture, amazed the busker can get all his kit on that trolley behind:)
Well it was a candid, in that I didn't ask! But lots of people were taking shots - the guy had a good amount of money in his guitar case. 'faffing about' refers to all the other shots I'd also been taking.
It's hard as a photographer travelling with non-photos. Even when they try to be patient I can feel (or imagine?) their boredom and impatience and tend to rush or pass up shots I'd go for if on my own.
I think the drummer would have been perfectly amenable to being part of your portrait series, Hazel. I love this shot! Ray should get a book/coffee and join the lady waiting on the steps. :)
One of them would not have been good at telling me his story?!
The title had 'death' in it - couldn't read the rest!
