the Judas tree by quietpurplehaze

the Judas tree

I like the way this tree 'sprouts' isolated bits of blossom on its thick branches.

I have often wondered about the origin of the common name for this tree and just Googled it to find on Wikipedia:

"Judas Tree is a common name for a flowering tree, Cercis siliquastrum, from which Judas Iscariot is reputed to have hanged himself."

for half and half
