Have you ever wondered what -43 looks like????
This is a photo of our lake with fish huts early this morning when I was headed out to work. Ice crystals form in the air which gives this photo a hazy look. In the background the sun is slowly rising, however, it did not bring much warmth to the day, another bitterly cold one tonight!
Thank you for your comments and favs on my photo "Frosted Over" from yesterday, I really appreciate them.
Well I have to admit Kathy that I have not wondered very often what -43 deg looks like but now I know. And I don't think I want to see it in person. I'm quite happy for you to see it and take pics for us to see. Lovely shot
@gilbertwood Yes Denise they do fish out there in all temperatures, they have small woodstoves to keep them warm, the fish huts stay on the lake until the end of March.
Great shanties shot! It's much colder there than it is here. However, I had to stay in my car today to take pix. I went out to the lake, too! How funny! Will post later. :)
This is so pretty - only once have I seen ice crystals in the air like this - in January near Gunnison, Colorado - stunning lighting and color and love the silhouettes of the fishing huts.
That is seriously cold Kathy. We have only dropped below zero once the year and then it was only -2 for a very short time. This is a beautiful capture and I'll never complain about being cold again!!
The light is amazing! Love the colors on the frozen lake. The fish huts add the perfect focal point to this frigid image. (That's a crazy sport, ice fishing. Brrrrr!)
Damn, that is cold.....even though your photo makes it looks so radiantly warm!! We had +41 F here last week, and we thought we were freezing....then, again, here in southern California we are total weenies!!
