Moraine Lake, from the Rockpile, Valley of the Ten Peaks,Alberta
Moraine lake is a glacial-fed lake in Banff National Park, outside the of village of Lake Louise Alberta Canada. The lake being glacially fed does not reach its crest until mid to late June. When it is full it reflects a distinct shade of blue. The color is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis.
Thanks for your comments and favs on my Alberta holiday photos, I really appreciate it.
Wow, you are in the Picture Capital of the world and your photos show just that! Beautifully composed, lovely shot!! Huge FAV. I love how you got down low on the driftwood and brought it into the shot. Very nice!
I really miss Alaska and it's mountains, but I can sure remember them through your photos!! Gorgeous capture and love the scenery all around. That drift wood is fantastic and would look great in my yard with flowers planted around it!!! Beautiful capture and how lucky you are to see these in person!! FAV!
I'm so envious of your photo opportunities while here in this beautiful part of the world. I keep showing your pics to my husband who keeps saying "we really should be going there ourselves". How I wish!

On the icefield hwy between Banff and Jasper it is a 4 hour drive and it took us 11 hours because we stopped to take soooo many photos!! (We did stop to eat in there as well)
