Buiding a Canoe

This cedar strip canoe is being made in Temagami, Ontario, Canada's second oldest canoe company. I attended a canoe building demonstration on the weekend which I found both fascinating and instructive. These hand made canoes take over a month to construct. Tomorrow I will post a finished canoe, a real work of art! I think this looks nice on black.

Thanks so much for your comments and favs on yesterday's baby chipmunk, he made it to the PP!!
Love the lighting and your information is so interesting.

This must have been really interesting - would love to see an actual wood canoe being made. Think they are so pretty. Like the way you put this against a dark background and viewed against black it's terrific. Fav

Beautiful light on the hull. The builders must have a lot of craft to build a canoe like this - and of wood. Curious to see the finished thing.
