Great job composing this with the strong red and bare tree. Is this rather lake for you to still be waiting for a solid freeze? Love the shot. Fav

@milaniet Yes it is late for the lake to freeze over..........every year it seems to freeze over later. It won't be long before everything freezes with the cold weather we have had in the last few days! Thanks for your lovely comments and fav Milanie!

Wonderful winter pics! Looks so cold

Are you serious? All the cold and snow at your place and the lake's not frozen yet? Great red object to stand out fantastically against the white. The stark tree adds a good extra.

such a surreal concept (for more southern-dwellers), that someone would trust ice enough to build fires on it.

@lyndemc Most of the lakes are frozen over but this lake is very deep over 500 ft in places and because it is one of the roughest lakes in Canada the ice is slow to develop! Thanks for stopping by Denise!

@radiogirl Very interesting. Thanks for the follow-up info. (500 ft is DEEP!)
