This morning was the coldest yet this winter, we woke up to -35C (felt like -45C)!
When I saw the sun coming up over the lake I had to bundle up and brave the cold. I only stayed outside for 10 minutes, by then my battery in my camera was drained and my fingers could not push the shutter button anymore.
This was taken from the deck in my backyard with the lake in the distance. The 2 white shapes in the foreground are tops of pyramidal cedars that my husband keeps trimmed so we can see the lake.
Thank you so much for the lovely comments and favs on yesterday's photo of the bench and lamp overlooking the frozen lake, much appreciated.
Such a glorious sight from your back deck ! I can not envisage - 35 c let alone - 45c Love the colour of the sky and your abominable snowmen !! The snow covered cedar topiary look as if they will follow the leader and walk away !! fav
I'm just a 20 minute drive away from where this shot was taken, and it was -41C this morning at my house when I left for work! I didn't hit this ice fog until I was almost into town, but it was just beautiful with the sunrise shining through it! I didn't have time to stop for a photo, so I'm glad you got this.
Very cool shot. My goodness - how cold it is there - stay inside and stay warm. Time to buy flowers at the supermarket to take photos of so you don't have to venture outside!
What a gorgeous sky. I couldn't imagine what 135 feels like. The coldest we ever seem to get is -1 or 2c round here. But I'd love to know what it feels like :)
For the frozen bubbles my best tip would be to make sure there is no wind and to make sure you have your camera ready
