Jack Pine by radiogirl

Jack Pine

On my mother/daughter weekend in The town of Huntsville we came across many buildings that had paintings on them, like this one.
This is a Tom Thompson painting, he painted with the group of seven (Canada’s most famous painters from the 1920s) unfortunately he died before their first group show.
They think he was murdered while canoeing, and It’s still a mystery today!
Here is the link to the info on his death, if interested:

Interesting to read about him today - he was murdered by his friend! I think this house must be proud of this painting!

what an amazing painting and it looks as if he would have done well if he'd survived

Loved the link. Thank you. It does seem to me that the street art piece should be kept up better, the dead plants in front should be pruned.

Ahhh beautiful! I know the work of the group and of Tom Thompson, but I never knew of his death! What a nice encounter this was and I'm glad you photographed it to share!
