Raccoon

We spotted this raccoon swimming across the lake right in front of us while we were canoeing. I was happy to see he made it across, jumped over the log and that was the last we saw him! I noticed that his fur didn't even look wet as he came out of the water!
The raccoon is a medium-sized mammal native to North America. It is the largest of the procyonid family, having a body length of 40 to 70 cm and a body weight of 5 to 26 kg. Its grayish coat mostly consists of dense underfur which insulates it against cold weather. (Wikipedia)

Well spotted and captured - I have a friend who had a family of them come into her house thru the cat door to snack on the cat food - took a while, but she was able to catch and move them to a new location, with professional assistance.
