Turkeys

That's me stalking turkeys. Ha! No, not really. It's one of those fancy effects from a mobile phone where you can take a photo and have yourself in it, too. Totally by accident, but it kind of reflects what happened. We were driving by the road into a development close to where we live and saw all these turkeys. The car didn't seem to bother them much at all. They were spreading out their wings and strutting around. My husband said they were drying their feathers. (We had rain last night! Yeah!) I was on the wrong side of the car to take any photos with my phone (of course we didn't have a "real" camera between us) so my husband, who is electronically challenged, took the photo ( and 50+ more like it) on the right. Some of the ones that had them really spreading their wings were not in focus. Then we drove into the development and turned around. I took several, but they had all gone into the bush (see the circled areas). Too bad. It was exciting to see this.
Great find. That always seems to happen when we see something along the road, too. It's always on the other side.

Your description sounds as if this was quite fun...and perhaps even more so without a 'real' camera. Necessity is the mother of invention!

We just had a group of about 15 come through the backyard the other day but they were too close to the house for me to get a good shot of them. They'll be back I'm sure. Fun collage and story!

Well spotted, and a fun shot--even though it's not what you wanted.
