Get-Pushed-269- Confederate Soldier

Angie, my get-pushed partner this week, asked me to photograph something "historical ."
This is a photo of the confederate soldier statue that sits on our historical court house square. Those in the US have heard of the debates being held about this type of statue. Those outside the US may not have heard them, but if you're interested you can check this link: http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/15/us/confederate-memorial-removal-us-trnd/index.html
I'm not posting this to spark any political debate. I know how I feel about this issue and you are welcome to make your own opinion. However it is historical.
Note that it actually stands on the same piece of property as a statue of Senator Sam Ervin Jr, of Watergate hearings, as he is from this town.

I apologize for not posting and commenting. My life has been hectic and there has been little energy for taking the photos, never mind sitting at a computer long enough to post or comment. I will be back. I appreciate you not forgetting me.
@angiedanielle24 Sorry for waiting until the last minute to post this. I hope this is a satisfactory photo for your challenge. There are other things around here that would work, but so little time for photography in recent weeks. Thank you for your challenge. I have been thinking about it all week.

@randystreat this is exactly the sort of photo I hoped you'd post. Every country is shaped by its history and that's what makes projects like this so fascinating. I had no idea monuments were being relocated in this way; thanks for the link you provided too. I'm glad my challenge made you think. Thanks Kathy

Kathy, I am Kathy, your get pushed partner this week. I have looked through your very interesting photos and can see that you do a terrific job at composition. I didn’t come across any abstract photos so as your challenge, I would like you to do any kind of abstract you would like. Okay
?

Great photo, Kathy. You are right, it IS history. We have several of these in our area of the South as well.
