My DH and good friend had Christmas dinner together. After we were "full as ticks" and finished the main course, we pulled crackers. She enjoyed herself and he was trying to look weary of the whole "ritual". We had a good time. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
I had never heard of crackers on Christmas until a few years ago when we spent the holiday with the younger son's in-laws and their family. It's a fun little ritual. Glad you had a fun time with yours- and love the "as full as ticks" expression!
Sounds like you had a great time. We always have crackers and cross hands, holding crackers with those on either side of us and all pull together. All jokes read, hats put on, novelties discussed and just caucus hilarity but great fun.
@mandygravil I grew up with these, my family moving to the States from Canada when I was small. I've to introduce them to friends and family members since I was able to find them (after I moved further south in the US). Most everyone gets a kick out of them.
