Took a tour today of the hospital that has been built to replace the one currently being used and the one where I worked for 37 years before retiring. I liked the nicely landcaped courtyard and how the aftenoon sun couldn't quite reach over the top of the building to the left (and off camera) leaving shadows and bright reflections.
For the flash of red month. Day 1-3, seeing the light.
For the February word prompt - architecture
For the theme - black and white
Nicely done Kathy- I like seeing the difference the light makes on the side of the building and the pov works really well for highlighting the architecture.
A marker in the sand when you can go and see the building that's replaced the one you knew so well. Your shot nicely illustrates the thought that now goes into planning, ensuring that what we build is not only functional but also atttactive with plenty of light.
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann @s4sayer This time of year, this courtyard, and others like it (I believe there are three) look nice. I can only imagine what a hot hole it will become in the summer. It is surrounded on four sides by the building and no shelter from the sun, except the shade caused by one of the walls. Personally, as one who sunburns quickly and can't stand the heat, I'm not sure it was well designed. That's my two cents worth. It is nice to look at, though. @haskar Thank you Haskar. @mandygravil Yes. Takes the edge off the modern. @craftymeg You're welcome Margaret. Thank you for yours. @fbailey Felicity, it's brand new, never been used. They hope to open the new hospital in August. @mej2011 Thank you Melissa.
