Bristles

A close up of one the red hot poker blooms (Kniphofia uvaria). I thought the b&w helped show off the details of the blooms a bit better.
Great close up with lots of textures.

You're quite right. Makes me think that perhaps we react more to the colour and/or scent of flowers and blooms than their shape and form.

Great capture . I`m with Henk-Jan but sometimes B+W gives more contrast

@kwind Thank you Kim.
@s4sayer The use/ or lack of color makes a big difference in the way a subject appears. Thanks Margo.
@jamibann Thank you Issi.
@pusspup Thanks Wylie
@digitalrn Thank you Rick.
@fbailey Thank you Felicity.
@hajeka Thank you Henk-Jan. These are striking, I admit, although not my favorites. They were planted by my husband, so I guess I'll keep them. They really do provide a splash of color.
@pyrrhula Thank you. I agree about the contrast. It's why I tried these in B&W.
@bizziebeeme Thank you so much Lou
@olivetreeann Thank you Ann. I will contact you tonight.
