Frozen

The rhododendron thought it was spring last week...then the cold temperatures came.
Poor flowers. I always feel so bad when they do that.

Well, hopefully it will get through winter to the real Spring! Nice dof on this shot. Poor thing does look quite forlorn.

@mzzhope Yes, but they should know better. Or maybe I need to put a calendar out in the garden.
@s4sayer Yes. These bushes need pruned, so perhaps Mother Nature is helping them out.
@craftymeg Thank you Margaret. We've had such drastic highs and lows this fall. (Actually more highs than lows, although it's a bit cool at night now.)
@hajeka Thank you very much Henk-Jan.
@stevepo I'm sure there have been.
@haskar Thanks Haskar.
@olivetreeann Thank you Ann. I'm not sure why the branch is so isolated from the rest of the shrub.
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry. (And you're welcome.)
@tosee Thank you Tom.

Oh, man! It was really beautiful here, too, for a few days. Poor rhododendron. At least you got a nice shot from it.
November 23rd, 2019
@mcsiegle Yes. And I enjoyed some buds that started to bloom, too.

Very nice shot. Is “dof” the right term for this?

@jb030958 Thank you. Depth of field - yes. The short or shallow DoF is what gives the bokeh in the background.
