Virginia's creeping across the log by randystreat

Virginia's creeping across the log

ooh, this brings back memories from my childhood where we had to cross the river near our house and it was just a large trunk of a tree. there was no railing so if you lose your balance you'd fall onto the water and the current will take you to the sea. makes my spine shudder what with that moving water.

Great shot. I am trying to imagine where you were to get this great angle. Possibly dangling by your feet?

Nice contrast between the current in the water and the smooth tree trunk. Good eye!

This one took of me! It took me a minute to figure out who Virginia was and where she was in this photo!A terrific composition with the diagonal lines and the texture contrast between the tree and the water

@summerfield Didn't mean to bring on flashbacks, Vikki. I apologize. @wakelys No way was I dangling my feet. I was on the bank just above this log. Thank you.
@ziggy77 Thanks very much Jo.
@jb030958 Thank you Jennie very much.

@will_wooderson Haha!
@serendypyty Thank you Cazzi. I didn't notice that so much until I got it uploaded on the computer.
@olivetreeann Thank Ann. As I said above, I didn't notice it as much while taking the photo. I liked it too.
@pyrrhula Thank you very much Ferry.
@grammyn Thanks Katy. I'm guessing maybe that log hadn't been in the water all that long. There was flooding in this area over this past weekend. Perhaps it came down and into the water then.

@randystreat Now that you mention it it does not look very Waterworn. Sorry to hear about the flooding hope it wasn’t anything serious.

@grammyn Well, it wet the path close to the water and filled it with mud. (I wouldn't walk on it lest I slip and fall. I'm not very graceful.) But no significant damage that I heard of.
