30 Days; One Subject Day #4 Food
Well, as a photographer, I like to make things look their best at times. This looks much better than it deserves. I had sugar, icing and coconut all over me yesterday trying to frost this cake. I decided to make a layer cake as the layers seemed too short to make a decent cake by themselves. Fingers crossed that it tastes good. The little bit I've tasted has been great.

I want to see THAT selfie! Your cake looks amazing. I am not a fan of coconut cake but I think you did an excellent job with this one and I am so impressed that you decided to go with layers after all!

Aha! So that's your coconut cake that you said you were making. It looks fabulous. Worth getting messy for. The little jelly bean eggs in the "nest" look so cute.
@mcsiegle Thank you Mary. It was tasty. When Easter meal was over, everyone took some and I had a little over a quarter of the cake left. Saved out two pieces and cut the rest up and put in the freezer for another time.
@thewatersphotos Gary it was too good, although not a bakery looking cake. I've never mastered that look. I usually do sheet cakes. They're very forgiving. @sunnygirl This recipe wasn't too hard - no scraping of the coconut or pouring out the "milk." And it was tasty if I do say so myself.

Thank you one and all. Although not the prettiest cake I've ever seen it tasted rich and wonderful. When dinner was through the others each took several slices to enjoy later and I brought the remainder home. I ate a bit more then sliced the rest up and put the slices in the freezer. Too tempting for me. I have no willpower.
