Awesome perspective and fabulous subject! The grand chap wanted to make one for me out of wood, but I felt like it would not work as well as this ceramic one. That plus I donβt knit as much as you, so it might not be worth his efforts.
@kwind Thank you. I use this occasionally when I knit, but there are a couple of obstacles I have to overcome before it can be used. The primary one is that the yarn has to be a certain size for it to work correctly. Mostly I'm too lazy to rewind yarn just so it will do in the yarn bowl. @shutterbug49 Thank you. Our fiber guild went to this potter's studio to "make them". He prepared the bowls, we glazed them and decorated the bowls as we wanted. Then he cut out the curve for the yarn You can see that I engraved my initials at the rim. @franbalsera Thank you Fran. We had nice glazes to select from. @joemuli Thanks Joey. @kjarn The potter did a nice job cutting out the curve. @jamibann I like my bowl, but rarely use it for anything but catching small leftovers of yarn. @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks Jackie. I'll measure and let you know. And know that the curve will be like mine if you knit with your yarn on the right. It's how it comes off the ball and underthe curve. @wakelys Thank you Sue. @rensala A lot of people use these regularly. They are pretty clever. @grammyn Aw, I bet he would have made a beautiful one. @corinnec Thank you. Our group was lucky to get this opportunity to help create a unique pottery yarn bowl. @craftymeg Thank you Meg. The potter had nice selections to choose from. @haskar Thank you @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian @pyrrhula So hard to get the colors right under a yellowish light bulb. It's actually a little more purple than red. Thanks very much. I owe most of the success to the potter. @olivetreeann Thanks very much Ann.
@summerfield Thank you Vikki. I used to joke with them at Photo Club that I took all my photos from my desk. I've expanded my focus area to include a few more rooms.
Fabulous details, favved
