Day 266 - Crispy Shades Of Blue

A chilly winter night
Beautiful. We do not know what snow is like here in South Africa. I would love to know where this photo was taken and in which country you live. I try to learn more about other countries through the beautiful photos placed.

Thanks Sylvia! I live in a small community north of the 55th parallel in the province of Manitoba, Canada. We usually get snow that stays in late October or early November (often years the children have to wear parkas, mitts and toques under their Halloween costumes to go trick or treating) and winter lasts through till mid to late April-ish though the ice isn't usually off the big lakes until towards the end of May. Winter temperatures can dip to -40*/-50* C with the wind chill and generally January & February are our coldest months. Summers are lovely (though brief!) as we are surrounded by boreal forest & lakes; Manitoba's slogan/motto is Sunny Manitoba, Home of 100,000 Lakes! Mining, forestry and tourism are our main industries. We have people from all over the world travel here to fish our beautiful lakes - many of them accessible only by float planes. Thanks for your comment on my photo and your interest! You've got some really amazing photos posted and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll post next!
