My darling hubby was resting on his walking stick while sitting in his wheelchair waiting to get into our gig last night,I took a few shots inside but the metal gigs have terrible lighting so lots of red blurs.
So i decided on this one today as its not often i put up portraits,If you dont know my husband has had RA since he was 7 yrs old its known as Juvenile arthritis,Everyone of his fingers have been bent & warped since age 12 they could be straightened but this would mean less movement so he puts up with the pain each day so he can save his finger movement,Every joint in his body needs replaced,he has had both hips & 1 shoulder next yr a knee will be done & the good thing is his specialist lets him choose when & what joint is done next.He is so brave & lives life to the full when he can.
This is a very deep, thoughtful portrait. Pain is so hard to live with, and I give you both so much credit for enduring what you do, and having such a beautiful love.
A very thought provoking portrait. You're Hubby sounds like a wonderful man and I know from what I've read on here just how special your relationship is. Hope you both have a nice weekend together.
It is a very loving and touching portrait. It is amazing you did it with your phone. Hope you too have some relief. i love this picture and wht your wrote.
What a magnificent shot of him, you are both an inspiration to all with your positive outlook under difficult circumstances...so glad you can go to these gigs that you love so much :)
This is such a beautiful photo, and a caption of love and compassion. This old world will always be okay because of your and your husband's attitude. Thanks for sharing your pics and your story.
a wonderful, gritty portrait. thank you for sharing too about your husbands struggle. my dad had RA for many years, and it is a very painful, disabling disease for sure. Big hugs to you both....
I agree with H - you are an inspiration. I was recently telling my friend who has just had her foot fused, the first of her RA required ops, about your husband and your bravery and pro active life.Have to Fav it - lots of love x

This is a wonderful portrait; you are certainly talented, Carole. I have RA too, but certainly not for as long as your husband and I can cope without having joints replaced as yet. I can appreciate the pain he's in and can only admire both of you for your attitudes to life and the way you make the most of every day. Good luck to you both, and keep taking these wonderful pictures.
Awesome portrait! An amazing story. Yeah, I missed a walk today for juvenile arthritis, a friend of mine's daughter has it. Would have loved to went, I just wasn't told, read it in the paper this morning. Will for sure do it next year. That's wonderful he gets to pick and choose, I pray the surgeries will help. :-)
Wonderful shot. You feel the strength of his character in this photo. Great portrait. Wishing him support and love as he goes through life. It looks like he has that with you.
Such a powerful and yet sad picture of your husband. def. a fav.. I give you both so much credit for enduring what life has given you both. wish I could make it easier for you. you both are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am very moved by the image of your husband before reading your description. The photo is what photography is all about, being able to move someone with a picture. Someday I hope to grasp that quality. Thank you for your comment on my photo.
This is such a wonderful, powerful and emotional portrait of your husband. I'm so sorry to hear about all he's had to endure since such an early age. He's so strong and brave to fight on and live life to the fullest in the face of his pain.
This is a wonderful photo and I totally understand your husband pain! Its wonderful knowing how much you both do things together and living life to the full.
You have a lot of followers and a lot of people favoriting this, including me. The reason I did was because this stood out as a very personal picture that meant something to the photographer. It is a personal look at something we don't see everyday. That is why I am following you now and favoriting this picture. Great picture of a very personal moment. :-)
My husband's family has that--he and my older daughter have a mild form of it, I know how painful it can be. I'm sorry to read your husband has it so severely. I like the portrait--there's a sadness in it, however.
I'm so glad you commented on mine and I thank you because it caused me to look at yours. Wow! What a great photo on it's own terms, and such beautifully writter words. It's not just a great iPhone photo (which I love to do as well), it is a great photo.
This is absolutely one of the best potraits I've ever seen! I love the fact that the viewer can really get up close and personal with the subject matter. This is a photo that you want to look at again and again. Thank you for sharing this personal portrait.
Your words about your husband tell me that you are both amazing people...and this photo is just so powerful....wow. You did a nice job with the processing too!
Thanks so much everyone, ive never been a portrait taker but just couldnt resist this one so thanks for all the lovely comments & for those of you who faved it xXx
