My good friend, Sarah, took me to the stables to meet 14-year- old Ophelia, her riding companion and premier sport horse. Ophelia was a national dressage champion in 2009. She's one big horse- (17 hands, 1 inch), chestnut colored and very good- natured. She resides at a professional horse and rider training facility in the town of Temecula.
It was so much fun to spend time with the horses-it's something I've never done before. I had a hard time choosing just one shot because there were so many good candidates for this spot but I liked this one because I think it shows the close relationship between the rider and her trusty steed.
Today's photo was of special importance to me because it's my 100th day of Project 365! The past three months have taken me on a wild ride that has changed the way I view the world. I wake up every morning so excited to view photos that were posted overnight and to organize my day to allow time to get my shot. I don't usually know what it will be-and that's what makes it exciting and enlivening. I don't envision ever wanting to get off this wonderful merry-go-round. The world is just one giant photo op!
Wonderful portrait of your friend and her horse. What a beautiful animal and your friend is beautiful also. This would make a lovely gift framed up to give to her. It is a warm and beautiful capture of both of them
That's something I would love to do - the opportunity to spend time at a stables, yeah! Wonderful opportunity for you and a sweet capture of Sarah with Ophelia.
