This huge Flag of Honor was hanging in the Air Museum yesterday, listing the names of all the victims of 911 in its red and white stripes. Although I took several other shots where every name is crystal clear: I liked this one best because it shows the reflection of the B17 bomber (the one that I posted yesterday).My husband and I just stood there for a while, gazing at all those names...It was quite moving.
wow! it gives me goosebumps every time i see something like this. someone sent me a video years ago of what was happening inside the lobby of one of the twin towers and you can hear the loud banging that every time i remember it as bodies dropping on the pavement i shiver. it is good to pause and remember.
That is pretty powerful....to imagine all the lives lost, each one of them a tiny print, so many of them on the flag....Have you been to Ground Zero in NYC? The black granite surrounding the fountains where the buildings used to be are all inscribed with the names of the ones that perished. Very moving...
