Day 365. Over the Moon by redy4et

Day 365. Over the Moon

Yes! Project complete. I'm overjoyed to have finished my first year! This moon shot, taken from my driveway, is my very first attempt with a brand new 75-300 mm lens. I'm excited to finally have a long lens and a new lightweight tripod. I had hoped to include leaves from an overhanging tree in this shot but couldn't get them both in the frame so I opted for the moon by itself.

Thank you to everyone who shared in this year-long journey of discovery. You have inspired me with your amazing posts, views and comments. I'm looking forward to Year 2!
Yeay! Congratulations on finishing your year. Totally awesome pic for your new adventure! I also bought a new lens :) What can one do...and artist has to create!! :)

Congratulations on completing Year 1, and a big FAV on this amazing moon shot!! Such wonderful clarity and focus! It is great to have a zoom lens, isn't it?! Now you can catch those distant surfers in action, too!
Also, so glad you are staying on....I would miss your beautiful shots, and the friendship that we have developed.....here is to 365 more! :-))

@panthora Thank you Osia! Now I can zoom in on the action--once i learn to focus the darn thing and hold it steady! The new tripod should help with that.

@redy4et What tripod did you end up getting? I am shopping for one, and there are so many choices and price variations. Would be interested in knowing how you like yours.

@panthora It's a Manfrotto carbon fiber Be Free tripod. Folds to 16" Very lightweight for travel. Not sure it would work for a heavy camera though.

@filsie65 Phil, thanks so much for your comments and support throughout the year! Being on this project is so much more than just shooting and posting photos.I've enjoyed all of it, particularly the positive encouragement of Caring people like you! I'm excited because I'm heading off to South Africa on safari next week and hoping for a few good shots! Not sure how much I'll be able to post from there on my IPad...May have to wait until I get back but will try my best. On to the next adventure!

@redy4et Ooh sounds marvellous! Take a zoom lens if you don't want to be dinner! I took one to the zoo and was really pleased, and of course they were a captive audience.. how are your eyes?
When you're on the savannah and you look up and see a big moon above you think of us all :)
