Today my husband took part in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, an international event for riders of classical motorcycles in 220 cities around the world. Their goal: to raise $1 million for research to end prostate cancer, a disease that kills 1300 men a day worldwide.
More than 500 riders, including more than 50 women, left Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles to ride in unison to Venice Beach. Similar events occurred throughout the U.S. and in Austrailia, Brazil, India, Canada and many of the European countries.
What makes this one-day event a bit different is that the riders hit the road dressed to the nines, some in suits or tuxedos, others in dress shirts, ties and wing tips.Hubby looked quite handsome if I do say so...
This is fantastic, for all the reasons mentioned above. And it is also a great example of how little things make or break a shot. In this case, if you take away the flowers on the left, the picture would lose a lot of life and liveliness...it would become a guy posing on a bike in front of a wall.
Very distinguished, indeed!!! Did he have a jacket, also, or was it warm enough to ride like that in the wind?! Were you able to take any shots of all the motorcyclists riding in unison? It would have been nice to capture them all from a high point!
Very, very nice.
