The 90-day count down has begun for the big event of 2017-- the Total Solar Eclipse on August 21. My husband put his travel telescope and most of his gear together this weekend for a trial run-through. My den became the ultimate man cave with eye pieces, nuts and bolts and tripods strewn across the entire room. About the fish. Above the door is a huge (real or plastic?) marlin that he says he caught in Cabo 25 years ago. It arrived in a huge wooden crate the morning our daughter was born. One of them (not the baby) spent the first six months in the garage while we argued about where to hang it. He wanted it in the living room. I thought it was just fine in the garage. Eventually it ended up in the upstairs den where thankfully, few have ever laid eyes on it. The whole point of this shot is to memorialize the fish, because in the next phase of our remodel, it may just have to go away...
@peterlgrave I guess you know it never does. During both eclipses I've witnessed, the one cloud in the sky covered tip the sun until the very last
second before totality. Then it parted and the sight was incredible!
