We chose a restaurant right on the lake so we could eat and then quickly get down to the shore to catch the sun dipping behind the mountains. Lake Tahoe is a freshwater lake that straddles the border of California and Nevada at an elevation of 6200 feet. This area is popular for skiing and outdoor sports. The 1960 Winter Olympics took place here on the north shore in Squaw Valley.
