Behind the Lace Curtain

Another in my series on the Bodie mining town. What did miners do more than 100 years ago in their off hours? Well, the town had couple churches, as well as 65 saloons on the mile-long Main Street, many of which doubled as brothels, gambling halls and opium dens. Use your imagination.
Wonderful shot. I can only imagine what was seen through that window!!

Lovely refection! I'm glad I wasn't born in that era!

Sounds like our small town in NZ at that time. Banks and brothels!

This captures the sense of a small town of long ago so well. Beautiful composition.

Endless photo ops at Bodie, I can well imagine. One of these days I'll be there with my camera. :-)
