An Andean woman rows along the shore of the floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca. The Uros people have been living on the lake for hundreds of years. They make their homes, furniture and the islands themselves out of totora reeds. Fishing and tourism are the mainstays of their economy. But they do have some modern amenities such as solar panels and a radio station. Even though this woman has a motorboat, I guess she preferred the physical challenge of rowing, Saves on gasoline.
