This is the highest navigable lake in the world, at an elevation of 12,507 feet. It straddles the border of Peru and Bolivia and is revered as the birthplace of the Incas. Going out on the lake gave me an appreciation of just how vast it is. More like an ocean. The water is bright and clear. After visiting the floating islands, we cruised to Taquile Island where we hiked and admired the native textile art.
