I often see this cute couple on the wire above my garage so they must have their nest close by. Back in March a dove built a nest in my backyard but then abandoned it after about a week which was disappointing. It could be that these are the same doves; I don't really know for sure.
I get a similar view every morning of a pair of maybe the dumbest doves among the species - which is saying something. They've tried to build a nest for consecutive years in a spot under my deck, where there's no room or traction for such an endeavor. It continues to fall apart after several days, and then they start all over again. On occasion I've witnessed a broken egg, but mostly they just seem to give up. Yours are obviously much more intelligent - and pretty!
