Yukon Gold by redy4et

Yukon Gold

This dredge was used in the early 1900s to extract gold from the river beds in the Yukon. It would float on the river, picking up dirt and sifting out the gold. Today modern versions of this equipment are operated by commercial mining companies to extract close to $300 million a year in gold from this mineral rich area. The landscape was turning golden here in the early Fall.
