More than 45 cargo ships are lined up outside the Port of Los Angeles, waiting to unload tens of thousands of containers of everything from medical supplies to furniture to parts for your washing machine. The Covid virus has devastated dock workers, leaving few if any skilled laborers to unload the ships. So every week the fleet grows and the containers stack up.
