Clare and our youngest grandchild. They’ve been up since “stupid o’clock” in Massachusetts, so shortly after collecting them at the airport with the 12-passenger rental van I’ll be driving this week — and stashing our car someplace near the airport with free long-term parking — we stopped for lunch on the way back to Carbondale. (The transportation logistics for the kids’ visits is a bit complicated!)

@marlboromaam I *may* bite the bullet, even though it will put me on a couple of dangerously-slippery slopes. The upcoming restrictions on free accounts aren't clear to me, so I've already emailed Ross for clarification. The main reason I joined thirteen years ago is now almost a 100% moot point, but I like having the photo-diary or photo-journal. We'll see.
@marlboromaam Yep. I lost a significant amount of enthusiasm for this project six years ago and I've struggled often since then (mightily at times). Today's email exchange has diminished my enthusiasm even more. As mentioned above, the main reason I joined 13+ years ago is now almost a 100% moot point. He's acting in what he believes is his best interest and that's surely his prerogative. He must know that a price increase for Ace and changing the rules on free memberships will cost the site membership, but if this is how he makes at least part of his living, then his bottom line is profit, not the number of members, and again, pricing and rules are at his discretion.
