I have marveled at many water droplet images from others on this site, but this is my first attempt. It's telling me I should consider tossing the tripod in my trunk and it's whispering “macro” to me…

@cohare Thank you! The angles were definitely favorable for a helpful background!
@sharkeyshark Lindsey, I have to tell you that I really like your profile statement about liking subjects that stay still — me, too! The water droplets, by their nature, aren't staying still! How was drawing class?
@exposure4u Thank you, Wendy! I have my late father-in-law's N80 (film) and close-up set. I have missed being able to get that close to flowers, for example, but now icicles!
@appealswoman Aww, thanks, Deb; I'm humbled. (I switched sides to put the sun more behind me and [eventually] rotated the camera to portrait. In the end, it took more than 50 frames to get to this one…)
@rhoing Yes, I'm trying to challenge myself to take pictures of things that are not stationary, haven't attempted any water shots yet, however. Drawing class was great - it was all about motion this week as we had a model who changed poses every minute.
By the way, purchasing a macro lens was the BEST thing that I've done so far with photography.
This is awesome, great job!! Don't you feel proud? You should. I found it nerve wrecking when I tried my droplet shot. I can't wait for summer to try some more & be really creative with the colours spring/summer have to offer.
I love how you caught the droplet just as it let go. It's a perfect globe!!!!!

@47thyear Thanks, Julie! Enjoy your son's visit!
