Obsolete-to-be

Within a couple days, these two 40-watt, incandescent light bulbs "blew." I have replaced a couple other bulbs this month with compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs), but in this particular application, the space is too tight for any of the currently-available CFLs.

Several of my light fixtures can't accommodate a CFL either, Thom. There's some special adaptor they told me I'll have to buy at a hardware store - so another trip! :(

When I look at these bulbs I think of the old fashion tube radios and televisions

@sparkleplenty1 I'd like to see how an adapter would work where these bulbs go. There isn't much space. I'm intrigued by many of the LEDs. They're pricey, but they're supposed to last a long time. Long time. Long time. Chewy, chewy Tootsie Rolls, last a long time. Sorry. Just couldn't keep that out of my head...
