[SOOC] (Colocasia esculenta, family Araceae). Common names might include “Coco yam,” “Wild taro.” A busy, 6-frame day, and all taken in the campus garden I pass every day.
As intymalcolm commented a couple days ago — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-08-10 — “you can’t beat a bit of physics” and the vein pattern here reminds me of a vector field diagram or phase diagram from differential equations and physics. (If you’re just joining us, we’ve already stipulated that I’m a math & physics and astronomy geek…)

Cool. Heh, I imagine you could very well model the flow of sap as a vector field... you might need an extra dimension though, since curl will clearly increase as winter approaches...
@intymalcolm Yeah, I only lasted for two tri-mesters or quarters as an astrophysics major. I loved mechanics, but e&m completely flustered me. My conjecture is simple: as a left-handed person, I just couldn't get the hang of all the "right-hand rules"! ;)
