“From Russia, With Love”

As mentioned already, Clare's mom is "downsizing" her household in preparation for moving from her home of the last 29 years back to her hometown. This sugar bowl and bell are two pieces from the inventory of mementos that Mom no longer wishes to keep and Clare chose to bring home. Of these two pieces, Mom wrote, "I bought those two pieces at a pottery near the boat dock when we were in Moscow. We stopped there a number of times and I had to pack them very carefully to get them home unbroken." So, with apologies to Ian Fleming, “From Russia, With Love”!

Oh, Ian Fleming gets some mentions in the non-fiction spy tale at the bottom of my reading pile 3½ years ago, http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2011-08-01

A note on the composition? I probably couldn't have posted this 3 or 4 years ago. My inner voice wouldn't have allowed me to crop off the edges of the subjects. But I figure now that the implied symmetry fills in what's been cropped and the image can be more about the detail of the matching patterns. My thoughts in 2015 at least…
