If “SD” stands for “secure digital,” then I figure the now-nearly obsolete predecessor of secure digital is “SA,” or “secure analog.” Of course this photo shows just the *case* that used to hold memory “unit” that recorded the analog images. Get this, though: each memory “unit” held only 12, 24 or 36 images!

Our master bathroom is getting its first complete makeover and I saved a lot of these Fuji film canisters. They're handy as small storage containers —

Ha! I was wondering how you found my Dynastes Tityus pic! Film canisters!! :) They sure are handy! Love this post! It was so hard for me to give up film, and now I can't imagine going back...not with the amount of pics I take each year!! PS we are redoing our master bath at the moments as well! :)
